There's an interesting timeline here. They avoided being seen in public since the Golden Globes, but that just seemed to increase speculation. But now that Naomi has got her new merkin they're going out together again.

r184, those "new" pics in the gallery isn't new per cee, those are all from GG and The Others premiere. so they haven't been seen together yet, but they did attend a Sting concert recently but no pics from the event. great gallery btw!

Totally gay. The gallery is awesome! I'm sure there was no way that Naomi would attend the Ring premiere w/o Nicole. So, the happy threesome shows up. All of Naomi's energy in those Ring 1 premiere pics are either straight at the camera or towards Nicole. Luv it!

The most likely reply I've seen so far is from the industry insider who said that Nic and Naomi had a relationship that has since ended. And that Nic will try anything once with anybody and Naomi is 100% queer and very possessive/jealous of Nic.

Nicole is still very consistently playing the pronoun game in the interviews she's giving for Bewitched. It's always "someone", "a person", and even the awkward singular "them". (I can post some quotes if someone's interested.) Weirdest part is Letterman seems to do it too, he never uses male pronouns when talking about people she might date etc. Thing is, I don't get why she's doing it, since she still says she's very, very straight whenever asked about it directly. Maybe she really does have some weirdass contract with Tom Cruise.

^I know, it crossed my mind many times as well, she almost only says men or man if somebody asked her specifically about men. It just ... I don't know what to think, but let's face it even if Nicole was bi/gay she could never come out, she would automatically out Tom as well plus get less roles in movies. Naomi.. well I remember watching Golden Globes and Nicole was nomitated for Birth, Naomi looked all cheerful when they said her name and then they went on revealing the winner's name (ugh, Hilary Swank) and she looked really pissed off and didn't even applaud although everybody around the table did and also Nicole with her happy face on. So I don't think Naomi is jealous, just really protective...

It's a bit long so I won't transcribe all of it, but about halfway through this video she "accidentally" mentions that she kissed Rebecca at new years (Rebecca Riggs is the new years baby she's talking about), and then proceeds to freak out about it.

Now that you bring it up, I was watching her Letterman appearance again, and Dave actually said "I think a lot of people would be scared to invite you to go out to dinner." I know, could be nothing. But it does seem weird... why would he say "people"? In this situation especially, cause they were explicitly talking about dates. Big thanx for the links!

Last time she was on Letterman was even weirder (May 2004). That's what she meant when she told him this time that he's talked about her dating habits before. (I downloaded the transcript and can't find a link now... sorry). Letterman: Are you dating anybody? Nicole: Oh...here we go!! L. We don' t have to go over that. N. No...I don't date L. You don't date at all?! N. No. L. But you might one day. Someone might come along. N. Maybe..I'm not good at dating. I mean ..who is? L. well it's horrible. It's a frightening experience N. Yes, well not frightening... L. ..no ..not frightening..did I say frightening.. (laughing) N. It's just a hard thing to do...and also..and .... now is not the time to be discussing this. L. But if you were dating, if you wanted to date, how would that work, how would that facilitate itself.? Would somebody call you, would you call on somebody? Would you have an intermediary? Haha, love you too. And yeah, I'm a girl. Another thing she does is she always refers to her female friends as "girlfriend". It was worst on Oprah: "I was with my girlfriend and we were trying on underwear", heh heh. And she likes to talk about how gorgeous her girlfriends are. She did this on Letterman too. I've got a couple of more videos, but I'm not sure if anyone is interested enough. One is ancient from SNL in 93, where she's doing the little dance Tom did in Risky Business. I'm pretty sure she's wearing men's underwear too, heh heh... I also have the Ellen interview from January, which was kinda funny. And the uhm, face licking from Practical Magic, but that might be a bit too esoteric...
