I knew they met before! Thanks for refreshing my memory. Sarah looks so tiny btw.

I re-watched Mulholland Drive yesterday. Wow. I mean... WOW! (I just sounded like Tom Cruise. I'm sorry).

But really, it's extraordinary. What did you guys think?

by: Anonymous reply 453 07/19/05 @02:55

I think Mulholland Drive is amazing.

by: Anonymous reply 454 07/19/05 @05:21

MD is one of my favorites ever, you do have to re-watch a couple of times to "get it".

by: lynch fan reply 455 07/19/05 @05:26

When Mulholland Dr first came out I watched it quite a few times (I'm just a little bit obsessive about David Lynch going back to Twin Peaks).

I had no idea who Naomi Watts was, and when I started reading some interviews and found out she was best friends with Nicole Kidman, it was like, oooh-kay, you have *got* to be freaking kidding me. I still won't believe it's just a coincidence.

by: Anonymous reply 456 07/19/05 @06:27

That what is a coincidence, r456?

by: Anonymous reply 457 07/19/05 @07:40

Spoiler warning...

Basically, the character Naomi plays in the movie (a struggling actress) has a gf (also an actress) that rises to success leaving her in the dust.

And that's without getting into all the details of it... which I will... if you twist my arm. ;)

by: r456 reply 458 07/19/05 @07:56

Aha, I get it. And you do know, that the whole lesbian theme was added _after_ Naomi was cast. I say HMMM.

by: Anonymous reply 459 07/19/05 @07:59

More than that, it was added after the entire thing (the thing that was supposed to be a TV pilot) was already finished, and Lynch had gotten to know the actresses.

And then there's the whole deal with the other woman marrying someone more established in the industry, getting ahead... heh!

by: Anonymous reply 460 07/19/05 @08:03

When Diane(Naomi)sits at the table at the director's house in the ending ,don't wanna be a spoiler and tell more, she breaks my heart with her acting. She plays the part really well!

by: Anonymous reply 461 07/19/05 @08:11

I think it was mentioned before in this thread, but it's really weird how similar the themes are in Mulholland Dr and Moulin Rogue (which came out the same year).

(no conspiracy or anything, just a weird coincidence)

by: Anonymous reply 462 07/19/05 @08:18

Hm, never thought about that.

by: Anonymous reply 463 07/19/05 @08:26

Naomi walking her dogs while making my gaydar explode. If this girl is straight than I'm George goddamn W Bush!

by: Anonymous reply 464 07/19/05 @08:32

Agree 464.

"Naomi Watts strolls with her two dogs, Chicken, right, and ,Bob,,Left, in Greenwich Village in New york,NY."

They name the dogs but not the woman she's walking with?!

by: Anonymous reply 465 07/19/05 @08:48

God she's cute...

by: Anonymous reply 466 07/19/05 @08:50

r465, they rarely mention friends names in candids. it's not like the papz are walking up to them asking for their name ;) she seems to be a teen to me.

by: Anonymous reply 467 07/19/05 @08:57

FYI, Chicken is Liev Schreiber's dog.

by: Anonymous reply 468 07/19/05 @09:19

What happened to poor old Ned (that she got from Heath)?

by: Anonymous reply 469 07/19/05 @09:33

She used to have two dogs of her own though. This cocker spaniel I think, but I haven't seen her with it in quite a while so I guess something unfortunate most have happened.

by: Anonymous reply 470 07/19/05 @09:42

Ah, sorry, didn't see your post r469. I was talking about Ned as well.

From one of the recent updates from Gawker Stalker: "At the New Victory Theatre last night (7/10) for a performance of “Rain,” I sat across the aisle from Nicole Kidman. She came in at the last minute, and had two assistants sit on either side of her. She wasn’t fooling anyone, though; everybody still stared. She’s luminous, if a little thin. I loved the show so much I came back for today’s final performance and snagged a cancellation ticket. Turns out the woman who escaped Tom loved it as well; she was back, and this time she brought Naomi Watts, who was, unfortunately, not throwing one of the tantrums witnessed by other stalkers."

Phew. Appearently they're still friends.

Thanks 473.

It's funny that is seems like it's Nicole that's dragging Naomi along to stuff a lot.

by: Anonymous reply 474 07/19/05 @18:25

Yeah, so it seems. Or perhaps people just assume that since Nicole is the more famous one. I get kinda irritated at the gawker reporters sometimes, can't they add a little more info, make it more juicy. Like if Nicomi seemed to get along, laughed a lot, whatever basically!

by: Anonymous reply 475 07/19/05 @18:32

Well, Naomi didn't throw a tantrum so I guess she was happier than usual (hah hah). And no mention of Liev bearding along either!

by: Anonymous reply 476 07/19/05 @18:38

r455 - Yeah, immediately after I saw it, I knew I had to watch it a few more times. I still don't quite "get it", I don't think. Or at least, I don't get ALL of it. I know what some parts are. I figure something new out every time I watch it. What a great movie.

by: Anonymous reply 477 07/20/05 @00:03

Oh thank God!

Thanks R473.

by: you see? they're FINE! reply 478 07/20/05 @04:17

Hey, I like them to be intimated friends; not just friends. Love both of them.

by: Anonymous reply 479 07/20/05 @05:10

r477, Oh definitely. I don't really fully get it either. But even Naomi said you're not supposed to, so that's good to hear, lol. But yeah, you always find something new watching it. Me likey a lot. Although some of my friends think I'm a looney for loving the movie, heh. But it's not the easiest movie to watch so I understand them.
